Bruce D. Brattain, was born in Anderson, Indiana on May 25, 1950. He was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1979. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Bruce attended Columbia College from 1971 to 1972, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University in 1974. He received his law degree from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 1979, where he graduated cum laude. Bruce served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.
For his service, Bruce was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star. Bruce worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Indiana from 1983 to 1986, and served as the Civil Chief from 1984 to 1986. He then joined Ancel & Dunlap in 1986, where he worked until founding Brattain & Minnix (now Brattain Minnix Garcia) in 1993. Bruce is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
